The Museum will be open free of charge over the weekend for the Heritage Open Days, where some Museums and other places of local interest are open to the public free of charge.

Come and celebrate the 11th year of Essextraordinary Steampunk Magnificence at the Museum and wonder what the future may have been as the Victorians imagined it.  The day will be made splendid with a multitude of fun activities, Steampunk market, brilliant entertainment illuminating the day’s proceedings, costume competition through imagination of travelling back in time through the decades.

Summer Outdoor Vintage and Antique Market.
The event will take place in the museum's large grounds.
Expect to find stalls selling antique and vintage items including, jewellery, silver, coins, vintage fashion, handbags, furniture, sculpture, garden ornaments, household effects, curios, art, collectables, ceramics and much more...

Only be afraid of having too much fun - come and enjoy arts, crafts, ghost and pumpkin hunts and other spooky activities, together with stalls selling spooky goodies.  Also come and stir the witch’s cauldron and enjoy her stories …

Come along and enjoy 'Joining in with Hearing', playing and making different musical instruments, together with themed arts and crafts. 

Our unique fun ‘Find the Note’ trail will also let you discover if our engines can make music with you too.
