Power of Literature Book Club at the Museum of Power

The Museum now has it’s own regular book club talks, with Joan Binder and other guest speakers joining us to look at a wide range of books and provide entertaining & interesting talks.

Monday, 13th May 2024 – ‘The Dry’ by Jane Harper –

Set in outback Australia in a season of blistering heat, this is a tightly plotted and intricately woven detective story.

 

Monday, 3rd June 2024 – ‘The Marriage Portrait’ by Maggie O’Farrell –

Set in Italy in the 16th century and inspired by a Robert Browning poem ‘To My Last Duchess’, this reimagines the story of 16 year old Lucrezia Borgia, unexpectedly married to unpredictable and sinister Alfonso Duke of Ferrara

 

Monday, 1st July 2024 – ‘The Exhibitionist’ by Charlotte Mendelson –

Ray Hanrahan, acclaimed artist, notorious narcissist, obsessed with his own reputation is preparing his work for an exhibition – the first for over a decade.

 

Price £5 per person, per session. Refreshments from 10:15am, sessions run 10:30am-12:30pm
