Learning Support Volunteer
We’re looking for friendly, outgoing volunteers to welcome schools when they visit the Museum.
The Museum of Power cares for a collection of industrial heritage and makes it accessible to the public. We’re looking for volunteers who enjoy working with children and are enthusiastic about learning to help primary school children have an enjoyable and memorable visit to the Museum. This role does not include teaching or delivering sessions with schools, however you will have opportunities for training if you wish to progress to the Learning Volunteer role.
What’s involved?
In this role you will:
- Welcome school groups and support their visit to the Museum
- Prepare activities and support children to engage with the session
- Liaise with teachers and coordinate evaluation
- There are also opportunities to support activities for families during the school holidays

We are looking for someone who is:
- Friendly, welcoming and approachable
- Enthusiastic about the Museum and its collections
- Works well with children and young people and able to provide two references
- Interested in working with a range of age groups, backgrounds and demographics
What is the time commitment?
We are looking for volunteers who are available on Wednedsays, Thursdays or Fridays during term time, from 9.30am – 2.30pm (half day shifts are also available).
