Museum & Tea Room Opening Hours for 2023

Museum

The Museum is pleased to annouce that our re-opening from Wednesday 4th October is going ahead as planned. This is a 'soft' re-opening as the project works are still ongoing.

The 'Powering Forward' project, funded by the National Lottery Heritage Fund, Garfield Weston Foundation, other donors and match funded by the Museum is still ongoing. Here are the latest updates on the project:

Outdoor works: Brickwork and roofworks are currently taking place with the extension planned to be finished by end of January 2024.

Indoor works: The Museum exhibits are in place for re-opening, but more works will be taking place between now and full re-opening on 6th February 2024. More interpretation and exhbit works are to be completed during closure between Christmas and February.

The Tea Room will remain open for as much of the works as possible, though we anticipate some short closures, which we will announce beforehand.

We look forward to welcoming you to our new look Museum from 4th October, with new extension, gift shop, reception area, new toilets and more indoor seating for the Steam Pump Tea Room, planned to be completed by February 2024.

Thank you for your patience.
