Events
General Information
All events start at 10 a.m. and finish at 5 p.m. unless otherwise stated, entrance fees are as shown against each event
The miniature railway is run on event days, for which an additional charge is made. However, the Directors reserve the right to replace the miniature steam engine with a diesel engine as and when circumstances may demand. The 'Model Village' will be open during miniature railway running.
It is regretted that, due to the high cost of fuel oil, "Marshall" the Lilleshall triple-expansion steam pumping engine can only be run at events where it is indicated below.
For all events the Steam Pump Tearoom will be open serving quality refreshments.
Application forms for stallholders and exhibitors wishing to attend events can be found via the ‘Contact' screen.
Private Hire
Some indoor facilities are available for hire to groups and individuals. In addition the museum has a quiet, level and secluded three-acre field which can be hired out to appropriate groups and organisations for example for weddings and private functions. Santa Special Miniature steam train rides to see Father Christmas with a present for children included in the cost. This fantastic event can only be pre-booked from Maldon Tourist Office (telephone 01621 856503). It is recommended that you book early. (Watch for further details on this website and in local press. We are not able to carry children under one year of age. Entry to museum for non tickets holders £2.50 includes a cup of tea and cake. |
